The MIREU Consortium has the pleasure to announce a photo competition aimed at engaging creativity and art in addressing the European landscape of sustainable mining and raw materials supply.

The selected pictures will be published in the 2019 MIREU Calendar, which will be disseminated among the consortium partners and their stakeholders, and at selected MIREU events.

The participation in the photo competition is free of charge and open to professional and amateur photographers from EU Member States, who are at least 18 years old.

The pictures must be submitted via email to before November 25, 2018 at 17:00 CET.

The submitted pictures will be posted on the official MIREU Facebook page and followers will be asked to express a preference by liking one or more pictures.

Each participant will be allowed to submit up to 3 pictures.

The theme of the competition is ‘The Role of Social Acceptance in Mining and Its Perception on a Regional Scale’.

The emails with the submitted pictures must include the title of the picture, the location represented in the shot and a short description on how the theme of the competition is reflected in the picture.

All entries must be original work and the participant must either be the sole owner or the transferee of the copyright. By entering the competition, participants retain full copyright of their pictures.

By submitting their pictures to the competition, the participants give their consent to the MIREU project to use their photos for the abovementioned purpose, i.e. the 2019 MIREU Calendar. The project may also use the pictures for other communication purposes, however, always with the copyright included in the pictures.
